Handle with Care

by Jacqueline Solís

What if you had to care for your clothes until they die because they have legal personhood? Handle with Care harnesses speculative design and bio design to envision a future where wearables are active, self-healing, living organisms that reconcile the act of clothing with the fight against climate change and the search for a local, circular, economy of degrowth, taking fashion towards the Ecocene.

JACQUELINE SOLÍS is an Mexican-Canadian based in New Zealand, recently graduated with a BDes (Hons) majoring in Fashion from Massey University. Research interests are Ecocentrism, Bio-Design and Speculative Design.
